After the success of the Low Rider modified motor, winning US and Japanese national championships, it was time for the Spec version. Offered in 21.5, 17.5 and 13.5 turn versions, the light weight and low center of gravity is carried from the modified version.
The heart of the Spec version is the optimized stator. After several different design approaches, we found what the unique Low Rider configuration needs for phenomenal power in the ultra competitive Spec classes. As the motor is inherently light, we could keep steel in critical areas to squeeze every ounce of power from the motor.
In the SMC tradition, motors are NOT sorted to keep the best for ourselves. Every motor is assembled, to our exact tolerances, and the “best” motors have not been cherry-picked from the lot.
